Facts
The assessee failed to furnish required details and explanations before the CIT(A) despite multiple opportunities, leading to the dismissal of appeals. The assessee also failed to provide information to the Assessing Officer and sought one more opportunity before the ITAT.
Held
The Tribunal, considering the totality of facts and in the interest of justice, decided to remand the matters back to the Assessing Officer for de novo assessment, directing the assessee to submit all necessary documents and comply with notices. The Revenue's appeal was also remanded for the same reason.
Key Issues
Whether the assessee's failure to provide information warrants a remand for de novo assessment, and if the Revenue's appeal should also be remanded concurrently.
