Reliance in this regard, is placed upon the decision in the case of Mahabir Cold Storage -vs.- CIT (1991) 188 ITR 91 (SC), wherein the Hon’ble Supreme Court held that the entries in the books of accounts of the assessee would amount to an acknowledgement of the liability as debt.
