THIS I.T.A. COMING ON FOR HEARING, THIS DAY, ALOK ARADHE J., DELIVERED THE FOLLOWING: JUDGMENT Mr.E.R.Indrakumar, learned Senior counsel along with Mr.E.I.Sanmathi, learned counsel for the revenue. Mr.Aravind V.Chavan, learned counsel for the assessee. This appeal under Section 260-A of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Act’, for short) has been filed by the revenue. The subject matter of the appeal pertains to the Assessment Year 2011-12. The appeal was admitted by a Bench of this Court vide order dated 03.07.2018 on the following substantial question of law:
"Whether the bonus shares received by the respondent - assessee against the equity share held by him in the company is taxable under the head 'Income from other sources' under Section 56(2)(vii)(c) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 or not?"

When the matter was taken up today, learned counsel for the assessee submitted that the substantial question of law involved in this appeal has already been answered by this Court vide order dated 15.12.2020 passed in ITA No.501/2016 against the revenue and in favour of the assessee. 3. Learned Senior counsel for the revenue was unable to dispute the statement made by the assessee. 4. In view of the aforesaid submission and for the reasons assigned in the judgment dated 15.12.2020 passed in ITA No.501/2016, the substantial question of law framed in this appeal is answered against the revenue and in favour of the assessee.
